Is your house dry? Polish your silver.

I tried this method this week and really liked it.  Christmas with shiny silver is lovely.  And it's a good education for the children to have the nice things out and learn to use and appreciate them.  

Cleaning silver with baking soda & aluminum foil. (Very Easy!)
